Party in the USA

So, if you've read 'about me' you probably already know that I would like to pursue a career in Sign Language. Though I don't personally listen to this kind of music, this guy's signing is amazing! His expressions are so clear that you don't even have to know Sign Language to understand what he's saying.

Check it out:

That's awesome! I'm going to take a class in sign language next year! It's funny how people think it's an easier language to learn, (I originally thought so) because it's not verbal, but it's seriously a whole new language. It's amazing!
Lovely blog!

I started sign language once. I found it fascinating and beautiful. A lot of it stuck with me too, even though that was years ago.

I took a sign language in third grade (so 9 years ago) and then tought my siser how to speak it. We use it often and I'm working on making it a bit more fluent. I'm kinda out of practice right now because she's been off at college.
Nice blog. Thanks for following mine. Just so you know, I don't post very often. With trying to finish up my senior year, I don't have much time to blog.

Hey Katy; I just wanted to say thanks for following me! I find it amazing that you can speak sign language. Several times I've attempted BSL but it's been a struggle.

Hi Katy,
I am learning sigh language as well, and I love it!
I hope to be good enough to maybe be an interpreter some day!
Thanks for checking out my blog!

I watched this with my volume muted. Amazing! I could feel the beat at times just from his expression and motion.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Katy! It's great to meet new people in the blogasphere!

Hi Katy -

I saw your comment on Eileen Astel Watson's blog, and thought I'd pop over. I'm so glad I did!

I've taken a year of Sign Language and also a shorter course. While I'm not fluent, I can hold a simple conversation with a deaf person.

Mostly, I do specials like the young man in the video. (He did a wonderful job - so expressive!) I lead the Sign Language Team at church. We currently preparing a special for Resurrection Sunday. We'll be signing to Nicole C. Mullen's song, "Redeemer."

I've become a Follower and hope you'll check out my blog, "Christian Writer/Reader Connection."

Blessings,
Susan :)

Hi Katy,
Thanks so much for your comment on my blog! I'm following yours now, too. :) It was so cool to come to your blog and see this video! I recently saw this and LOVED it, although I don't listen to this kind of music, either. I'm learning ASL, too, and had once considered becoming an interpreter (although I haven't ruled it out)! So glad to see we have similar interests. :)
Have a great day!
Renee

Go for it! It can be a great career and very helpful to other people. My cousin (once removed) made a career of it. She had some interesting experiences, among them being the interpreter for the Art Linkletter show. If you see any old re-runs, she would be the person signing in the corner of the screen.

Good luck with that dream.
